Nicholas P. Lamia
Age 92, formerly of Penn Hills, passed away peacefully in his home in North Huntingdon Friday, May 25, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his loving wife, together for 76 years, Antoinette Lamia; brother of Anthony (Eda) Lamia; father of Nicholas (Gina) Lamia, Anthony (Sharon) Lamia, Joseph Lamia, Annette (William Shiller) Lamia, Michelle (Michael) Greco, Denise (William) Dreer, Santina (Lawrence) Schiller; grandfather of 17; great-grandfather of 20. His wisdom and kindness touched all of those around him. He was a phenomenal pool player. He also enjoyed painting the world around him. Whether he was talking about his childhood, teenage years or his time in the war all were eager to listen to his stories. He was a WWII veteran and with the initial spearhead assault force, the first to reach Omaha Beach on D-Day June 6, 1944. He was appointed as a “Knight” of the Legion of Honor from the French Republic for his actions, which is Frances highest medal.
