William R. “Bill” Rockar
Age 93, of Penn Hills, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2018. Beloved husband of the late Shirley (Brandenstein) Rockar; father of Kathleen Hennigan, Gary (Teri) Rockar and Beverly Gabrielli; grandfather of Sean (Kimberly) Hennigan, Stacey (Carl) Ward, Rebecca (Kevin) Pawlos and the late Joseph Gabrielli and Michael Hennigan; great grandfather of Sarah, Caitlin, Tyler, Alexa and Andrew; brother of Evelyn (the late Lotus) Ventura; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and his precious cat Pumpkin. Bill was a loving, honest, trustworthy and honorable man. He was a father figure to many. He served in WWII with dignity, pride and love of his country. Bill was a member of American Legion Post 980. He also had a fun-loving, goofy side that attracted others near to him. The light of his soul was very bright and welcoming and he will be dearly missed.
Friends will be received at the William F. Gross Funeral Home, 11735 Frankstown Road (at Rodi Road) Pittsburgh, PA 15235 Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral Prayers Monday at 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St Susanna Church 11 a.m.
