Eleanor H. “Ellie” Russo (Jonnotti)
Age 89, of Plum, passed away peacefully Friday, June 30, 2023. Beloved wife of 61 years to the late James; mother of James C. (Mary Lynn) Russo, Rick (Susie) Russo, Gina (Joseph) Sonafelt, and Vincent Russo; grandmother of Antonette (Chad) Medved, Marissa, John, Joseph Jr., Emma, Isabella, and Sheridan; sister of the late Anthony Jonnotti, Ursula Jonnotti, Edward Jonnotti, Victor, and Rita. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends. Ellie graduated Westinghouse High School and attended Carnegie Tech. She was a secretary for J. Rick Excavating Co. alongside of her husband for many years. She was an active member of St. John the Baptist Church, Silver Sneakers, and a poll worker for many local elections. The family would like to thank the staff at Concordia of Monroeville and Forbes Hospital for their care and compassion. Gross Funeral Home, Ltd. 11735 Frankstown Road (at Rodi Road) Penn Hills on Sunday, July 9, 2023 from 1-7 p.m. Funeral Prayers will be held at the funeral home on Monday, July 10, 2023 at 9:45 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Family Parish St. John the Baptist Church, 444 Saint John Street, Plum, PA 15239 at 10:30 a.m.
