Joseph V. “JP” Pizzuti
Age 79, of Penn Hills, passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, Thursday, July 6, 2023. Beloved husband of 57 years to Marlene (Phillips); father of Joseph (Joanna) Pizzuti, MSgt, Ret. and Anthony (Candice) Pizzuti, PhD; grandfather of Jennifer, Morgan, AJ, Rachel, Cody, Tyler, and Jillian; great-grandfather of Ben and Fynn. Also survived by siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and his beloved fur babies. Joe was a graduate of Central Catholic High School. He started his career in the Insurance Industry and pursued his passion as a keyboardist and band leader, shaping the Pittsburgh music scene during the 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s. The next chapter of his life, he was focused on his family and community where he had an involvement with St. Bartholomew and Central Catholic Athletic Department, a bus driver for Penn Hills School District and coached many kids in the Penn Hills Baseball Association. Joe enjoyed working for PPG Paints Arena for over 20 years. His passion was spending time with family and friends and was loved and will be deeply missed by all. (at Rodi Rd.), Penn Hills on Sunday, July 9, 2023 from 4-8 p.m. and Monday, July 10, 2023 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral Prayers will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at 10:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Family Parish St. Joseph Church, 825 2nd Street, Verona, PA 15147 at 11 a.m.
