Gary N. Underwood
Age 74, of Penn Hills, was called to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 11, 2021. He was the son of Alice (Mangold) and Ernest Underwood of Bloomfield. He is survived by his wife, Elaine (Freiland), daughters Amy (Kevin) Sullivan and Lisa (Chris) Bauer and 5 grandchildren, Riley, Kaylen, Emma, Ava, and Christian. Gary is also survived by his brother Myles (Irene) and his sister Diana (Larry) Steckel. Gary had been a draftsman for various engineering companies in Pittsburgh during his 30-year career. He was also a long time ambassador for the PPG Paints Arena and enjoyed every minute of his 56 years as an usher and ticket taker welcoming all to enjoy the performance. Gary was very involved in the Penn Hills community as a committee person and as a 3 term member of Council. Always a people person, Gary was quick with a smile, a joke, or a story. He will be missed by his loving family and friends. (at Rodi Rd.), Penn Hills Wednesday, April 14, 2021 from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. A mass of Christian Burial will be held at Christ the Divine Shepherd Parish St. Bernadette Church 245 Azalea Dr. Pittsburgh, PA 15235 on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at 10 a.m. We will be following COVID-19 state guidelines.
