Helen A. (Homison) Russo
Age 76, of East Oakmont, passed away at home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, October 28, 2014, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on August 12, 1938 to the late Stephen and Anna Homison, in Lawrenceville, PA. She is Survived by her sisters Eleanor Galvin, Dolores Drost, Teresa Orban, Anne Tabrosky, Rita Tolusciak, Barbara Vidra and Bernie Vidra. Helen was married in 1959 and is survived by her husband William Russo Jr.; beloved mother of Daniel (Sharon) Russo, Sandra (David) Cardinale, Renee’ (Michael) Rihn, Linda (Kevin) Russo Walker, Kenneth (Sherri) Russo and the late Kevin William Russo; grandmother of Michael Hyde, Adam (Emily) Hyde, Kelly (William) Crankshaw, Andrea Cardinale, Jacquelin Walker, William Walker, Vanessa Russo, Morgan and Sean Rihn; great-grandmother of Sophia Hyde and Wyatt Crankshaw. Her most recent interests were traveling to Florida for the winter with her husband Bill where they enjoyed the warmth of the sun, good food, great friends, bonfires and the beach. Age 86, of Penn Hills, passed away on Tuesday, October 28, 2014. She was born on November 4, 1927 in West Mifflin (Camden) PA. Preceded in death by her parents George and Lavada Doyle and twin sister Nada Bekavac. Beloved wife of the late Robert Petrick; survived by her daughter Jan (Steve) Burke of Carlsbad, CA and son Jeff (Barb) Petrick of Penn Hills; five grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was a frequent Volunteer at the Penn Hills Senior Center and Penn Hills Service association and never passed up an opportunity to dance. Age 83, formerly of Penn Hills, on October 25, 2014. Belover wife of the late Thomas R., mother of Jeff (Janine) Hovanec; grandmother of Bryan Hovanec; sister of Paul (Audrey) and Ted (Rita) Michalczyk. Joan taught algebra at Woodland Hills middle school. “Goodbye to all my dear friends” A memorial mass will be held at a later date in Hilton Head SC.
