Age 70, of Murrysville, Plum and Penn Hills, passed away with his family by his side Saturday, December 28, 2024. Beloved husband of 48 years to Debbie; father of Josh Brikis and Kelsey (Bob) Romea; Pap-Pap of Brayden, Nico, Enzo, Chiela; brother of Frank Brikis; uncle of Cherie. Sandra “Sandy” L. Russo (Eckman)

Age 70, of Penn Hills, passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, Sunday, December 22, 2024. Beloved wife of 51 years to Alex Russo, Jr.; mother of Phillip (Jackie), Nicholas (Renée), and Matthew (Melissa) Russo; grandmother of Alex, Addison, Angela, Helena, Giacomo, Lorenzo, and Santina; sister of Debby Coll and the late Jackie Lynn and Cynthia Eckman. Patricia “Trish” Sturniolo

Age 68, died peacefully in her sleep surrounded by loved ones Tuesday, December 10, 2024, after a brief, courageous bout with cancer. Born Ann Patricia Capozza in Parsippany, New Jersey, Trish was the loving mother of son Lucas Will, daughter Deanna Dunstane, and stepsons Zachary Sturniolo and Tyler Sturniolo. To know Trish was to be cherished by her, emphasized by the dozens of friends near and far that traversed the halls of her home as she made sure each and every soul was fed. The soundtrack of classic rock in the morning encapsulated Trish’s love of Bon Jovi, Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, and others. The smell of tomato sauce and the sound of her characteristic laugh always danced through her home. Her community knew her as someone deeply involved, giving her time over the years to the Girl Scouts, 4H, band programs, and the Church. Anybody who spent just minutes with her could see the bursting care, love and regard she held for those around her, holding and expressing the sincere belief they could and would accomplish each and every goal set before them. Trish is preceded in death by father Patrick Capozza and mother Anne Jane Capozza (née Landi), her three siblings, and loving former partner William “Bill” Dunstane, with whom she spent 14 years. She is survived by husband David Sturniolo, the children she made and those she collected, and her many grandchildren.

Antonietta Vaccaro Donnangelo

Age 94, of Blawnox, originally of Montevideo, Uruguay Passed away peacefully Friday, December 20, 2024. Beloved wife of the late Domenico Donnangelo; mother of Filippo (Maria L.) Donnangelo and Rosa (the late Jorge O.) Paccio; grandmother of Steven Paccio, Andrea (Chris) Hoffner, Damian (Julie) Paccio, Domenic Donnangelo, Antoinette (Scott) Jakubek, and Maryann (Kevin) Kehrer; great-grandmother of Ryan, Alex, Jorge, Luca, Connor, and Nathan.

Mervin William “Merv” Moorhead

Age 82, of Penn Hills, PA., passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2024.

Mervin was born October 8, 1942 to Mervin Charles and Jean Moorhead in Braddock, PA. After graduating from North Braddock Scott high school, he joined the U.S. Army and proudly served his country for two years.

After being honorably discharged, he worked as a millwright at Edgewater Steel for over 20 years and also worked as a driver for Aerotech for 15 years.

In 1945, Mervin married Rosemarie Moorhead (Stoffa) at St. Anselm's Church, Swissvale PA. They were to celebrate their 60th Anniversary on January 23rd, 2025. They had three children, Mervin Joseph and his wife Tricia and their sons, Mervin Jacob and Luke. Tina Marie and her husband Tom Quinlan and their children, Thomas and Tatum. Joseph Michael and his wife Jennifer and their children, Mason, Donovan, and Kyra. Kyra and her husband John Alex Mulrooney are the parents of Merv’s great-grandchild Myles.

Mervin was preceded in death by his parents Mervin Charles and Jean, his sister Patricia (Redinger) and brother William. He was a proud member of a very large extended family.

Merv was a long time member of the St. Bartholomew Parish, Penn Hills. He was a passionate Pittsburgh sports fan, who gave back to the community by coaching youth sports at St. Bart's and with the Penn Hills baseball association. He and his beloved wife Rosemarie never missed a game that their children played and were their biggest fans. Merv had many friends across the Greater Pittsburgh area and knew someone wherever he went.
