Age 74, of Penn Hills, formerly of Homestead, peacefully passed away on Monday, July 31, 2017. Beloved wife of Ellis R.; mother of the late Shawn R. Collins; grandmother of Tyler O. Lavon D. Hudgins Sr. “Booman”
Age 47, of Penn Hills, departed this life at 1:35 p.m, Friday July 21, 2017.
Lavon was born June 21, 1970, in Pittsburgh PA. He attended the Pittsburgh public school system, however he received his GED through Goodwill Industry. Lavon was an active member of Weight Master's Gym for over 25 years. Lavon had many goals in which he achieved by working with the youth, teaching them the skill of boxing. He also spent time mentioning the children at the YMCA of Homewood. Recently Lavon became a franchise owner of his cleaning company.
He is survived by his wife, Tara; children, Teyonta, Lavon Jr., Shaquela, Tachelle and Troy; grandchildren, Deven and Brielle; mother, Cynthia Hudgins; father, Jerome Finney, Jr.; grandmother, Janice McWhite; sisters, Lakesia (Walter) Andrews, Lisa Adkins (Samuel) and Jarmel Finney; brother, Andre Finney; nieces, Devonney, Shaunequa, Marla, Samantha, London, Imare and Keira. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Catherine Hudgins and Winston McWhite Francine and Jerome Finney, Sr.; aunt, Francine Finney.

Teresa J. (Bennardo) Facey
Age 93, of Penn Hills, formerly of Sharpsburg, peacefully passed on Monday, July 24, 2017. Beloved wife of the late Harry C. Facey; mother of Janet (Fred) DiNapoli; grandmother of Christopher (Becky) and Darin DiNapoli; great-grandmother of Alexis, Ava and Christopher, Jr. DiNapoli; sister of the late Joe, Frank, Jack, Augie and Rose Bennardo. Teresa was a very hard worker and loved to go ballroom dancing but first and foremost had a strong love for her family.

James E. Shields, Jr.
Age 89, of Penn Hills, on July 18 2017. Jim’s Loving wife of 59 years , Florence B. Shields died May 14, 2017. He is survived by his daughter Linda C. Andrews, sons James E. Shields III and Bill Shields; step-son Robert D. Niekum; grandsons Todd J. Smith and Jared E. Smith; great-grandchildren, Sophia, Sarah, Myles, Marin; and brother Gerald Shields
Jim served in both the U.S. Navy and U.S. Army Reserves. He worked as a project engineer for steel companies in Cleveland and Pittsburgh then later for the Internal Revenue Service. Jim’s Favorite hobby was meticulously carving, to scale miniature models of United States Navy Ships. Jim and his wife, Florence, were active members of Zion Lutheran Church in Penn Hills. Jim served as an usher, worked in the church’s community room during and following events, and regularly visited members who were unable to participate in church activities. Following the end of the Vietnamese conflict, Zion sponsored four friendly Vietnamese sailors who were sent from San Francisco to a Pennsylvania military camp. Phat Nguyen was welcomed into the Shields’ home and lived with the family for five years. Services will be Saturday, August 12, 2017 at 3 p.m. in Zion Lutheran Church, 11609 Frankstown Road, Penn Hills, PA 15235.
