Carol A. Huhn (Russo, Hartshorn)

Age 87, of Penn Hills PA, Plum PA and Venice, FL., passed away peacefully October 25, 2025. Beloved wife of the late George R. Huhn; mother of Denny Russo, Connie (Joe) Smith, and Jeff (Stephanie) Russo; step-mother of Bill Huhn and the late George R. Huhn, Jr.; grandmother of Michael (Julie) Russo, Nick (Tricia) Russo, Amber (Alex) Aguiar, Andy (Erica) Smith, Zach (Colleen) Smith, Caitlin Smith, Anthony (Elisa) Russo, Nicole Russo, and Robb Huhn; great-grandmother of ten; sister of the late Howard Hartshorn and Judith Bender. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and her dog Missy. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to a charity of your choice.

Carol was dedicated mother and grandmother above all. She would be a stay-at-home mother for 15 years before being hired to become the Office Manager at Laurel Tag & Label by her future husband, George. They ran a successful business for 15 years together before she retired at age 50 and then married her best friend, George. They moved to Nokomis FL and spent 8 wonderful years together boating, travelling, and enjoying the Florida retired life. Carol loved to give, so she became a member of the Venice Garden Club and Venice Sail and Power Squadron where she held the title of Secretary.

Carol will be remembered by many for being so kind, caring, and appreciative. She graduated from Seneca High School of Penn Hills in 1956 where she met her first love Mike Russo and became a proud mother of 3 children that she raised in Plum Borough.

She was a woman who had health challenges her entire life after having rheumatic fever as a child, but you never knew it because of her strength and love for life. She loved to host parties and holidays like no other. Everything was always done to perfection because she wanted everyone to feel special. Carol loved to sew, crochet, doing ceramics, but most of all she loved to cook and share recipes. She was known for many of her recipes, but there wasn't a birthday, holiday or weekend party without her famous Broccoli Casserole, Potato Salad, or Signature Sangria.

Friends and family will be received in William F Gross Funeral Home, LTD., 11735 Frankstown Rd. (at Rodi Rd.), Penn Hills on Wednesday, October 29, 2025 from 2 p.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 6:00 p.m.
