Joann Berrott

Age 82, born in Masontown, WV, of Verona, passed away Wednesday, April 7, 2021. Loving mother of Lisa Ann (Kevin) DeNardo and Michael Berrott; sister of Rose Ann Michael and the late Till Lyzier, Mary Jane Farkas, Jack Favro and Della Olexa. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends. Joann worked at the Foodland on Frankstown Road for 30 years and was a parishioner of St. Gerard Majella Church.

William “Bill” Randall

Formerly of Penn Hills, PA, passed away Monday, April 5, 2021 at the age of 32 at home in Ohio Township, PA. He battled Huntington’s Disease for 11 years and lived life to the fullest he possibly could every day of his shortened life. He was born on January 12th, 1989, the son of Allen and Laura Randall and brother to Emily Randall. Bill was the eldest grandson of Helen and Robert Shantz.  He is survived by aunts and uncles, Jennifer (Mark) Vincent, Caroline (Brian) Henesey, Cathleen (Rich) Mills, John (Amy) Shantz, Steve (Tessa) Shantz, and Lori (David) Pommer.   He is also survived by cousins, Andrew, Gabrielle & Marissa Vincent, Kate and Brian Henesey, Jason and Erin Mills, Brendan, Ryan and Dylan Shantz, Mason and Madison Shantz, Tim, Robert, Rebecca and Joe Pommer.  Bill was a 2007 graduate of Avonworth High School and also attended Duquesne University where he was a member of the APD fraternity.  Bill was a beautiful soul, he made many deep and fast friendships with his ability to light up a room with a smile and his soft warmth. Bill never met a stranger.

Anthony “Te” D. Asturi

Age 86, of Morningside, passed away Monday, March 22, 2021. Son of the late Joseph and Teresa Asturi; beloved father of Maria (Richard) Berger, Joseph Asturi, Lisa (Jeffrey) Corcoran, and Gina (Sean) Burkett; Big Pap to 15 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; brother of Palma Silvaggio and the late Joseph Asturi and Mary Sauro. He is held deeply in the hearts of many nieces and nephews.

Due to COVID-19, there will be a private viewing. A blessing service will be held at Mt. Carmel Cemetery 7601 Mount Carmel Road Verona, PA 15147 on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at 10 a.m.

 

 

Christine “Chris” A. Scalamogna

Age 78, of Penn Hills, passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2021. Beloved wife of Domenic; mother of Rosina Scalamogna (Mike Scholler) and Joe (Brooke) Scalamogna; sister of the late Pam (Joe) Geller and surviving Sandie Geller; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Flowers or memorial donations to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society at 1501 Reedsdale St. #105 Pittsburgh, PA 15233, are appreciated.

Robert “Bob” L. Parker

Age 91, of Penn Hills, passed away Friday, March 19, 2021 surrounded by his loving family.  Born in Monessen, he grew up in Braddock.  He was the beloved husband of the late Catherine (Manning) Parker; father of Patricia (Mark) Naughton, Robert M. (Terri) Parker and Thomas (Sandy) Parker; grandfather of Melissa (Vince) Pototo, Michelle Parker, Kristen Parker and Daniel (Katie) Parker; great-grandfather of Lilly Ballard, Sophia and Ella Pototo and Grey Marie Bray; uncle of Michelle Manning and devoted friend of the late Lois Towle.  Bob was a proud U.S. Army WWII Veteran and a past member of the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Reserve.
